I don't even know where to begin when it comes to ATV riding in the Almaguin Highlands in the area of Kearney, Ontario just north of Muskoka. The ATV sport has become amazingly popular over the past two years. The Almaguin area is surrounded by crown land and Algonquin Park giving us a very large trail system.
What I love most about the sport is it is for everyone! I go out on the trails with my husband and our three children. I love the easy trails with my family because I get to take in the scenery, stop and look at the beaver and other wild life, stop for a picnic, take my time and just relax. My husband on the other hand likes the rough trails with lots of mud and he gets to do that riding with the guys and my daughter who also likes that.
At our business Sand Lake Cottages & Inn we have Grandparents, their Children and their Grandchildren come up for a Family Vacation of Atving. We have couples where the husband loves to ATV and his wife loves to sit and enjoy the Hot Tub. We also have a guys weekend where just the men get away with their friends and their children for an ATV Weekend.
It is so amazing how many different types of people are drawn to this fast growing sport! If you think about many sports they are seasonal like boating, snowmobiling, skiing and etc. The ATV season seems to start at the end of March and lasts until the end of December! The season is very long therefore making buying the ATV a better sport investment.
